Ron Abuelo 12 Year Old Rum is a Panama rum that is an exquisite blend of five different rums, aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon oak barrels in the tropics of Panama. 

Rum that has been aged in whiskey barrels obtains a unique vanilla sweetness during this process. Elegant, gently smokey, and rich, this 12-year-old was released in 2009, and in the same year, during the Ministry of Rum Tasting Competition it took home the gold medal.

Aromas of buttery toffee, caramel, and a hint of citrus greet the nose. On the palate, it's smooth and rich, with flavors reminiscent of dark brown sugar, cinnamon, roasted oak, herbs, and molasses. Fruity aromas are mirrored by caramel and wood from the aging process.

The finish, thanks to the cinnamon and oak, is absolutely delightful.
