Bodegas Osborne Tawny Porto
Bodegas Osborne Tawny Porto
This port wine's brilliant golden tawny color conceals the complexity of its aroma. Upon first impression, the nose is enticed by undertones of age, which are woven into a vibrant palette of secondary scents reminiscent of stories passed down from generation to generation.
Osborne Tawny Port is at its best when served at a temperature of 15–17oC, where its complex flavors may really shine. But for a new take on it, try serving it chilled, between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius. It's adaptable, and its presence is always felicitous as an aperitif or as the capstone to a great feast.
Destemmed grapes are the first step in the process of making this port. These gems then go through a formative fermentation process in stainless steel containers, to the beat of continuous pumping. This careful procedure contributes to infusing the wine with its signature depth and character. The story doesn't finish there, though; it then finds refuge in oak barrels, where it ages for more than four years before emerging as the highly regarded Tawny Port.
